The incident of rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata has been taking place today. On this, junior doctors and civil society members took out a torch rally in Kolkata on Friday.

Dr. Suvarna Goswami of Abhaya Manch, who is fighting for the victim, said- The investigating agency is talking about a big conspiracy in the CBI case, but does not know how long this investigation will be completed?

Suvarna Goswami questioned why the supplementary charge has not been filed even after a year. We have already said that this is not the job of any one person. Despite this, the CBI could not even detect any other accused.

First know about this case

The RG Kar Hospital was raped on the night of 8-9 August. The doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall on the morning of 9 August. Based on the CCTV footage, the police arrested a civic volunteer named Sanjay Roy on 10 August. On 20 January, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. After this incident, there were demonstrations across the country including Kolkata. Health services were stalled in Bengal for more than 2 months.

A large number of people attended the torch rally. During this, slogans were also raised for justice.

CBI official said- We are investigating the conspiracy behind the curtain in the incident

A CBI official told Dainik Bhaskar on the condition of anonymity that we are investigating the conspiracy behind the curtain in the incident. The role of officer incharge of Tala police station and a SIM card associated with him is also being investigated. The agency has submitted 7 status reports to the Supreme Court.

Last week, a team of CBI went to the victim’s house and met her parents and told her that only one person murdered her daughter after raping her.

The victim’s father says that unlike the claims of the CBI, we showed them evidence on the basis of which we believe that many others were involved in the incident. However, he refused to explain the evidence.

A memorial site has been built in the memory of the victim in RG Kar Medical. It is organized here on the 9th of every month to demand justice.

Closed Sanjay sentenced to life imprisonment

On January 18, Sanjay was convicted by the court and sentenced to life imprisonment on 20 January. However, the trainee was not satisfied with the doctor’s family case. He said that the CBI did not catch the real killer.

The court ruled after 162 days. The CBI has demanded the hanging for the accused Sanjay. At the same time, Sanjay’s elder sister said that there is no plan to challenge this decision of the trial court in any court.

Doubt on 3 people, 2 got bail

On September 2, CBI arrested 4 people including college principal Sandeep Ghosh, ASI Anoop Dutta. Ghosh is in jail in a corruption case. Abhijit Mandal of Kolkata Police has got bail.

Apart from Sanjay Roy, former Medical College Principal Sandeep Ghosh was also accused in the case, but the CBI could not file a charge sheet against Ghosh within 90 days, due to which Sealdah Court granted Ghosh bail in the case on 13 December.

On August 25, the CBI conducted a polygraph test of 9 accused including Sanjay in Kolkata’s Presidency Jail with the help of the Central Forensic Team. These included former Principal Sandeep Ghosh, ASI Anoop Dutta, 4 Fellow Doctors, a volunteer and 2 guards of RG Kar.
