Parliament Monsoon Session News Today Live Updates: Both Houses resumed proceedings on the third day of debate at the Parliament Monsoon Session 2025, but rampant sloganeering by opposition parties over Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and Operation Sindoor forced the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to be adjourned twice.
The Opposition’s protests demanding discussions on Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor have led to the adjournment of both houses. The INDIA bloc leaders have also protested against Bihar’s SIR issue in the Parliament on Tuesday. A protest was held outside the Parliament on Wednesday shortly before parliamentary proceedings began, with Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi joining other INDIA bloc MPs.
The parliamentary proceedings are also being held under the abrupt resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar from the position of Vice President on Monday, citing health reasons. Dhankhar presided over the Rajya Sabha as the Chairman on the first day of the Monsoon Session, but announced that he would step down in the evening, prompting a wave of speculation on his exit and successor in the second-highest office of the country.
This monsoon session will span from July 21 to August 21, encompassing 21 sittings over 32 days. Both Houses of Parliament will be adjourned from August 12 to August 17 to facilitate Independence Day celebrations, and will reconvene on August 18.
