A 24-year-old man riding without a helmet died on the spot after a high-speed collision in Chennai on Sunday night. The incident was caught on camera.
The victim, Alagesan, a motorbike mechanic, was returning home when the accident occurred near Teynampet.
As he was crossing Narasimha Road, another speeding motorbike collided with his two-wheeler, throwing him to the ground. He sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot.
Residents alerted the Pondy Bazaar Police, who retrieved Alagesan’s body and sent it to Royapettah Government Hospital for post-mortem.
The other rider, identified as 36-year-old Saravanan, survived the crash as he was wearing a helmet. He is currently undergoing treatment.
Further investigation is underway.
