He further said that from a proud Jewish Zionist to an Irish-American Zionist, I want to thank you (Biden) for 50 years of public service and 50 years of support for Israel. He is also looking forward to working with Biden on issues in the future. At the same time, Biden joked that Golda Meir was the first Israeli Prime Minister whom I met.
In a news briefing, US National Security Spokesman John Kirby said the two leaders discussed the urgent need for a deal to release the hostages, the possibility of the conflict in Lebanon spreading, the threat posed by Iran and the need for compromise in peace talks. Kirby said there are differences in US-Israel relations, but they are healthy.
Both leaders also met the families of American hostages
After the meeting, Netanyahu and Biden also met the families of the American hostages held in Gaza in a closed room at the White House. After the meeting, a person named Jonathan Dekel-Chen said that the meeting was fruitful.
Jonathan’s son Sagui was kidnapped by terrorists from Kibbutz Near Oz in Israel on October 7. Biden arrived in Israel soon after this attack.

After Harris, Netanyahu may also meet Donald Trump on July 26. This meeting will take place at Trump’s home Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
