Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is an aerospace and defense company owned by the Government of India.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a company that makes fighter jet Tejas and Dhruv helicopter, has received a net profit of Rs 3,977 crore in the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25. It has decreased by 8% on an annual basis. The company’s profit was Rs 4,309 crore in the same quarter of a year ago.

The company’s revenue was Rs 13,700 crore due to the operation in the January-March quarter. In the same quarter of a year ago, the company generated a revenue of Rs 14,769 crore. It has decreased by 7.23% on an annual basis.

The amount received from selling goods and services is called revenue or revenue. HAL released the January-March quarter and annual results on Tuesday (May 13).

HAL’s total income decreased by 6.36%

In the fourth quarter, the total income of Hindustan Aeronautics declined by 6.36% to Rs 14,351 crore on an annual basis. The company’s total income was Rs 15,326 crore in the same quarter of last year.

Company makes aircraft for military-civil market

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is an aerospace and defense company owned by the Government of India. The company provides aircraft, helicopter, avionics and communication equipment development, design, manufacture and supply for military and civil markets.

It serves Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Indian Navy, Defense Research and Development Organization, Indian Coast Guard, ISRO, Mauritius Police Force, Boeing and Airbus Industries. HAL’s headquarters are in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

HAL consisting of Hindustan Aircraft and Aeronautics India

On 23 December 1940, Walchand Hirachand established Hindustan Aircraft Limited in Bangalore in collaboration with the then Mysore government. In March 1941, the Government of India became one of the shareholders in the company and later in 1942 took its management into its hand. In January 1951, the company was placed under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defense, Government of India.

Meanwhile, in August 1963, Aeronautics India Limited (AIL) was created as a complete owned company of the Government of India to construct the MiG-21 aircraft under the license. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was formed on 1 October 1964, two companies i.e. Hindustan Aircraft Limited and Aeronautics India Limited.
