The Supreme Court has taken a historic step in the direction of transparency and public confidence in the judiciary and the property and liabilities of the judges have been made public. All the details have been uploaded on the Supreme Court website. This is the first time in history that the announcement of property of Supreme Court judges has been made public. Announcements of Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna and 20 other judges have been uploaded. They also include three judges who are in the queue of becoming CJI in the near future. In fact, the Full Court led by CJI Sanjeev Khanna took this decision after the incident of recovery of alleged cash from Justice Yashwant Verma’s official residence.
