The stock market is witnessing a decline today, i.e. on 24 July, the day after the budget. The Sensex is trading at the level of 80,200 with a decline of more than 200 points.
At the same time, Nifty has fallen by 70 points and is trading at the level of 24,400. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 are seeing a decline and 9 are seeing a rise. Banking and auto stocks are seeing a decline.
Asian markets trading with decline
- There is a decline in the Asian market today. Japan’s Nikkei has fallen by 0.22% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has fallen by 0.67%. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading with a decline of 0.17%.
- On July 23, the Dow Jones of the US market closed down 0.14% at 40,358. NASDAQ closed down 0.057% at 17,997. S&P 500 fell by 0.16%.
- Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹2,975.31 crore on July 24. During this period, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹1,418.82 crore.
The stock market closed with a decline yesterday
In the budget, the government has made changes in the tax on short term and long term capital gains. Due to this, yesterday the Sensex fell by 1,278 points during trading and reached 79,224. However, later a recovery was seen and it closed at 80,429 with a decline of 73 points.
At the same time, Nifty had also fallen by 435 points to 24,074 during the budget speech. Before the market closed, it also recovered and closed at 24,479 with a fall of 30 points. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 20 rose, 29 fell. There was no change in one.
