A decline is being seen in the stock market today i.e. on 23 January. Sensex is trading at the level of 76,250 with a fall of more than 100 points. At the same time, there is a decline of about 50 points in Nifty, it is trading at the level of 23,100.

During early trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 were seen declining and 12 were rising. There is more decline in FMCG and banking shares. At the same time, growth is being seen in IT and auto shares.

There was mixed business in Asian markets

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is up by 0.57% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index is up by 1.37%. Korea’s Kospi is seeing a decline of 0.75%.
  • According to NSE data, on January 22, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 4,026 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,640 crore.
  • On January 22, America’s Dow Jones closed at 44,156 with a rise of 0.30%. The S&P 500 index rose 0.61% to close at 6,086. The Nasdaq index rose 1.28%.
