Security forces raided the office of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday. According to news agency AFP, the security forces sealed the office. Also, many big leaders and workers of the party were arrested.

This includes PTI’s Information Secretary Rauf Hassan. Party President Gauhar Khan had accused the security forces a few days ago that they have kidnapped 10 top leaders of the party in the last two months.

Apart from this, the police forcibly took the women workers with them in their vehicles. This action was taken at a time when Imran, who is in jail, had said a week ago that his party would hold a massive demonstration against Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif across the country.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023.

The party was banned a week ago
Earlier, after Imran Khan was granted bail in 3 cases, the UN had said that Imran Khan was being kept in jail illegally. It seems that the government wants to end Imran’s party. The Shahbaz government had also said a week ago that they were going to ban PTI.

After this, Ataullah Tarar, IT Minister in the Shahbaz government, while announcing the ban, said that the government has decided to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for being involved in anti-national activities. He said that Pakistan and PTI cannot live together.

‘The length of the jail is 7 feet, I am having trouble moving’
On July 21, Imran Khan had said that he has been imprisoned in a cage like a terrorist. According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Imran had said that he is living in a 7 by 8 feet prison. His height is 6 feet 2 inches. Because of this, he is having difficulty moving.

Imran had said that I am always under the surveillance of agencies. I am monitored 24 hours a day. I am not even allowed to meet anyone. Imran has been in jail for almost a year. At the same time, according to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Imran is enjoying royal facilities in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

Khan has more than 100 cases against him

Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were acquitted by the Islamabad court on July 13 in the fake marriage case. After getting bail in all the cases, the court had ordered that they be released immediately. However, just 5 hours after the court order, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team arrested them again in another case related to Toshakhana.

More than 100 cases are pending against Imran Khan. The local court of Islamabad convicted him in the Toshakhana case on August 5, 2023. After this, he was arrested from his house in Zaman Park, Islamabad and sent to jail. Later he was convicted in 2 more cases.

According to the English newspaper Dawn, if Imran comes out of jail, he will raise the demand for fresh elections in Pakistan. Imran’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party could not officially participate in the general elections held this year.

In a post on Imran Khan’s X (Twitter) account on July 5, the general elections held on February 8 this year were called fake. In such a situation, the Shahbaz government or the army would not want Khan to be released at any cost.

Imran was released in all the three cases in which he was convicted

General elections were held in Pakistan on 8 February. Before this, Khan was convicted in 3 cases one after the other. Due to this, he could not participate in the elections. Before the elections, his party’s election symbol was taken away. All the party leaders contested the elections independently. Despite this, supporters of Khan’s party PTI got 93 seats out of 342 seats in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
