Today Sensex is witnessing a fall of more than 200 points. It is trading at the level of 78,000. At the same time, there is a decline of about 50 points in Nifty. Trading at the level of 23,700.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 12 are showing a rise and 18 are seeing a decline. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 31 are showing rise and 14 are showing decline. Whereas, there is no change in 6.
Pharma, health care and oil and gas are on the rise in NSE sectoral indices. At the same time, a decline is being seen in media, metal and consumer durables.
Korean Market up by 1.23%, Chinese market down by 1.12%
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is down by 0.35% and Korea’s Kospi is up by 1.23%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading down by 1.12%.
- Today is the second day of IPO of Quadrant Future Tech Limited and Capital Infra Trust InvIT. Investors will be able to bid for it till January 9. The shares will be listed on BSE-NSE on January 14.
- According to NSE data, on January 7, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,491.46 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,615.28 crore.
- On January 7, America’s Dow Jones closed at 42,528 with a decline of 0.42%. The S&P 500 index closed down 1.11% at 5,909 and the Nasdaq index fell 1.89% at 19,489.
There was a rise in the market yesterday
Yesterday i.e. on January 7, the Sensex closed at 78,199 with a gain of 234 points. Nifty also gained 91 points and closed at 23,707. At the same time, BSE Small Cap closed at the level of 55,282 with a gain of 945 points.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 rose and 12 declined. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 32 were up and 18 were down. Whereas, one stock closed without any change. In the NSE sectoral index, the Oil and Gas sector had the highest gain of 1.64%.
