Former US President Jimmy Carter, under hospice care since early 2023, died at 100 in Plains, Georgia, the town where he was born.
He passed away on Monday, surrounded by his family.
Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work in the promotion of democracy and human rights globally.
During his tenure as the President, he earned admiration for his humanitarian efforts and integrity.
