The soldiers deployed at LoC will not be brought to Jammu, but additional deployment will be done in Jammu in two-three days. The soldiers who are already here have been sent to the border.

The Army has been deployed along with the Border Security Force (BSF) on the Jammu border connected to Pakistan. After the clash with China in 2020, the soldiers were removed from the Jammu region and sent to the Line of Control (LoC) in Ladakh. However, soldiers will not be brought here from the LoC right now, but there will be additional deployment in Jammu in two-three days.

The soldiers who are already in Jammu have been sent to the border. According to military sources, soldiers have been deployed in an 80 km radius of the hilly areas of Kathua. They have completely taken control of the rivers, rain drains and old routes of infiltration.

This information was given in a meeting held in the presence of Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi at Jammu Police Headquarters on Saturday (July 20). It was told that the Multi Agency Center is being upgraded to increase the soldiers in Jammu region and to share intelligence information immediately.

Commandos are also being deployed while making inter-command changes to eliminate terrorists. Troops have also been sent from the Western Command.

The Army and Village Guard Defence conducted a search operation in Doda, Jammu on July 18. There has been intermittent firing between security forces and terrorists here since June 12.

19 signals intercepted…after this the soldiers were increased
Defence sources told Bhaskar that more than 12 terrorist groups are active in Pir Panjal and Chenab valley of Jammu region. After the Reasi attack on 9 July, the security system has intercepted 19 signals. In this, military deployment was increased after getting indications of major infiltration in the next few days on the Indo-Pak border in Samba and Hiranagar.

Two days ago, on July 17, an Austrian-made bullpup assault rifle Steyr AUG and a Pakistani identity card were recovered from two foreign terrorists killed in the Keran sector of Kupwara in Kashmir. The Steyr AUG assault rifle uses a 5.56×45 mm cartridge in its chamber.

This rifle was designed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in the 1960s. Now it is being manufactured by Steyr Arms GmbH & Co. KG. This rifle is counted among the most dangerous rifles in the world. It is being used by the army and police in many countries of the world.

Terrorists are surrounded from all sides…it is difficult to escape
The military commanders also told the army chief that the soldiers are gradually taking control of the places where the terrorists used to hide earlier. The operation is continuing in the hills of Doda. A cordon has also been laid in Surankot and Mendhar of Poonch. SOG, CRPF and Para Commandos are combing the forests of Sheendra Top, Sanei Top, Danna Shah Sattar and Bachhiyan Wali.

This time the situation is serious, immediate action is necessary
Former Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaidya told Bhaskar that the situation this time is more serious than the extent of terrorism in the hill districts of Jammu division before 2005. If serious action is not taken immediately, the situation may go out of control.

However, the deployment of the army has been increased very rapidly and the army is in the field with a new plan. The result will come soon. We will destroy them.

The army also deployed 500 Para Special Force commandos
Amid rising terror attacks in Jammu, the Indian Army has also deployed around 500 Para Special Force Commandos. Defence sources told news agency ANI on Friday (19 July) that 50-55 Pakistani terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the Jammu region. They have entered India to re-activate the terror network.

The army has received intelligence inputs related to this, after which they have taken charge. Intelligence agencies are also working to eliminate the overground workers and infrastructure supporting the terrorists.

According to defence sources, the terrorists infiltrating Jammu have received high level training. They have modern weapons and equipment. The army is working on a strategy to search and eliminate these terrorists.

The army has already deployed its brigade of 3500 to 4000 soldiers to combat the terrorists. Apart from this, the army already has a counter-terrorist infrastructure in Jammu, which includes Romeo and Delta forces as well as two forces of the National Rifles.

20 year old network of Jaish and Lashkar is active in Jammu
In Jammu region, the local network of Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was strictly neutralized by the army 20 years ago, has become active again with full force. Earlier these people used to carry the goods of the terrorists, now they are providing them arms, ammunition and food in the villages itself.

The 25 suspects who were detained recently have given clues about this during interrogation. This network has spread in nine out of 10 districts of Jammu namely Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Jammu and Ramban.

According to former Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaidya, Pakistan Army and ISI started targeting Jammu after the removal of Article 370. They activated this network in two years. With their help, terrorists carried out major attacks on the army in Poonch and Rajouri in 2020. Then they targeted Udhampur, Reasi, Doda and Kathua.

In 2020, the army was removed from Jammu and sent to Ladakh, this became an opportunity for the terrorists
Till 2020, a large number of security forces were deployed in the Jammu region. However, after the Galwan episode, the army was removed from here and sent to Ladakh to respond to Chinese aggression. The terrorists took advantage of this move of India as an opportunity and shifted their base from Kashmir to Jammu.

They already had an old local network here, which had to be activated. That is what has happened. Terrorist incidents in Jammu can also take a communal turn. Here the population density is less than in Kashmir and road connectivity is limited. A large area is mountainous, so it is taking time to kill terrorists here.

Former and present Pakistani soldiers are also among the terrorists who entered Jammu
Military sources said that the weapons and satellite phones recovered from the terrorists killed after the Reasi attack are proof that former or current soldiers of the Pakistan Army are also included among the new terrorists. Their method of attack is similar to that of the Para Trooper Division of the Pakistan Army. Satellite phones are also completely end-to-end encrypted.

Intelligence is not getting help from local people
According to reports, terrorists coming from Pakistan are getting training in small camps in the remote hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. They have modern weapons as well as modern communication devices. Their satellite phones are also completely end-to-end encrypted.

This reduces the risk of input leaks. At the same time, the intelligence about terrorists received by the intelligence from local people and others has almost ended. Due to this, the army is not getting success in reaching the terrorists.

Four army personnel were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Doda on July 16. A policeman was also killed.
