In a significant milestone for India’s clean energy mission, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has achieved 6,85,763 solar installations since its launch in February 2024. This accounts for 86% of the country’s rooftop solar growth in the past decade. Gujarat leads with 2,86,545 installations, followed by Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The scheme aims to reach 1 crore rooftop solar installations by FY 2027.
