Akbaruddin said to the people who came to the election meeting, “Hey brother, 15 minutes are left, be patient, neither is she leaving me nor am I leaving her. She is moving but what a buzz it is.”

This controversial statement of Owaisi is being linked to the speech given 12 years ago. In fact, in 2012 also, Akbaruddin had given a 15-minute provocative statement. Then he had said- If you remove the police from the country for 15 minutes, then you will know who is powerful.

Akbaruddin raised questions on guarantees of parties In his speech, Akbaruddin challenged prominent leaders of Maharashtra and asked whether leaders like Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde could guarantee his loyalty after the elections. He asked, “Will Sharad Pawar give an assurance that he will not form an alliance with PM Modi after the elections?

Owaisi said- Can Ajit Pawar promise not to return to Sharad Pawar after counting of votes? Will Uddhav Thackeray give a guarantee that he will not rejoin BJP? And, can Eknath Shinde vow to stay away from the Thackeray faction after the elections?”

When he gave a controversial statement, he went to jail, but was acquitted. In 2012, Akbaruddin, MLA from Chandrayangutta, Telangana, had said – India, we are 25 crores, you are 100 crores, okay, you are so much more than us, remove the police for 15 minutes, we will tell who has courage and who. Is powerful. A case was also registered against Akbaruddin because of this statement. He also went to jail, but later the court acquitted him on the basis of suspicion.

Akbaruddin is the brother of Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Akbaruddin Owaisi is the younger brother of AIMIM Chief and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi. He is a six-time MLA from Chandrayangutta in Telangana. His party is contesting elections on 16 seats in Maharashtra, for the campaign of which both the brothers are currently in Maharashtra.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, AIMIM had fielded candidates on 44 seats, but could win only two seats.
