Imran Khan has been in jail since August last year. He is also banned from contesting elections.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that they will invite Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar to their protests. According to Pakistani media ‘The News International’, PTI’s Information Advisor Barrister Ali Saif gave this information.
In the show of Geo News channel, Saif said that India claims to be the largest democracy in the world. The government of Pakistan is showing them that there is no place for protests here. They have parked 10 thousand containers outside Islamabad.
The PTI leader said, “We want Jaishankar to address our rally, so that India knows that Pakistan is also a strong democratic country. The people here definitely use their right to protest when necessary.”

On September 7, the police had used tear gas shells at the PTI rally.
Jaishankar will go to Pakistan for SCO meeting Foreign Minister Jaishankar will visit Pakistan on 15-16 October. Here he will attend the meeting of Heads of Government (CHG) of SCO. The Foreign Ministry had given this information on Friday. This will be the first visit of an Indian minister to Pakistan since Sushma Swaraj in 2015.
PTI’s first rally after elections After the election results in Pakistan on 8 February, Imran Khan’s party held its first rally on 7 September. Imran’s party could not contest the elections due to the ban imposed by the court, its candidates contested the elections as independents.
During the demonstration, Imran’s party leaders showed their popularity and strength to PM Shahbaz Sharif by gathering a crowd. In fact, the Shahbaz government had refused to approve the rally twice in two months.
During the rally, PTI leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan had said that the party will not remain silent until Imran Khan is released. He had said, “We are Imran Khan’s soldiers and will not sit until he is released.”

Imran has been in jail since August last year Imran Khan was arrested on August 5 last year after being convicted in the corruption case related to Toshakhana. Since then he is in jail in several cases. On Sunday, Imran completed 400 days in jail.
On July 13, Islamabad Court had acquitted Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the fake Nikah case. The court had said that they should be released immediately. Just 5 hours after the court order, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team arrested him in another case related to Toshakhana.
