The director of a school in Kalyan, Thane, Maharashtra has been arrested in connection with the suicide of a 16-year-old student. Anish Dalvi, a class XI student of Sacred Heart School, hanged himself at his home in Nimbavali village on Thursday, a police official said on Friday.

Dalvi’s parents told the police that school director Alvin Anthony had beaten Anish for posting messages on social media about a female student. Anthony had also threatened to expel Anish and two other students from the school.

Vehicle falls into ditch in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch; Mother and son killed, 6 injured

A vehicle skidded off the Mughal Road and fell into a deep gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday evening. 34-year-old Ujla Begum and her nine-year-old son Anees died in the accident, while six people were injured. The injured have been admitted to a hospital. According to officials, eight passengers were travelling in a car from Surankot to Srinagar. The vehicle went off the road near Pannar and fell into a deep gorge.

19 FIRs registered against parents for children driving in Noida in 3 days

Police in Noida and Greater Noida have registered 19 FIRs in the last three days against parents of children violating traffic rules while driving. According to officials, nine FIRs were registered on Friday under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act and the Indian Penal Code (BNS), while five each were registered on Thursday and Wednesday. Police said the move is part of a comprehensive campaign to ensure road safety and enforce compliance with traffic laws.
