The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is being held in New York, America.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif once again raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, America, Sharif compared Jammu and Kashmir with Palestine.
Sharif criticized the action of the Indian government in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that like the people of Palestine, the people of Jammu and Kashmir also struggled for a century for their freedom and right to self-determination.
Sharif alleged that India is going back on its promise to implement the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Sharif also accused India of judicial killing in Jammu and Kashmir, imposing long curfew and adopting strict measures here.
India is confiscating Kashmiri lands and property in a classic colonial project. A nefarious conspiracy is being hatched to convert Muslim majority into minority. For this, outsiders are being settled in Jammu and Kashmir.
India threatened to cross the Line of Control Sharif also raised questions about India’s growing military capabilities. Sharif said that the Indian leadership has threatened to cross the Line of Control. Mr. President, I want to say in clear words that Pakistan will respond decisively to any attack by India.
Speaking on Islamophobia, Sharif said- Hindu supremacist agenda in India is the most dangerous manifestation of Islamophobia. Its aim is to render Indian Muslims helpless and erase India’s Islamic heritage.
Palestine qualifies to become a member of UN: Support of 143 countries, including India On May 10 this year, Palestine qualified to become a member of the United Nations. Voting was held for this in UN. This proposal was brought on the demand of Arab countries. India voted in favor of Palestine.
Of the 193 member countries of the United Nations, 143 voted in favor of Palestine, while 9 voted against it. The protesting countries included America and Israel. 25 countries distanced themselves from this voting. With this voting, Palestine has not become a member of the UN, but has been able to qualify to become a member.
Earlier on April 18, America had vetoed the proposal to grant full membership to Palestine in the United Nations (UN). Algeria had presented this proposal in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), on which voting was held. Palestine could not become a permanent member of the UN after America’s veto.
