Apple’s ‘It’s Glotime’ event today: iPhone 16 series will have 4 smartphones, AI features may be available for the first time

iPhone maker Apple’s biggest launch event of the year will be held tonight at 10:30. The name of the event is ‘It’s Glotime’. The iPhone 16 series may feature four models with AI features – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The company can also launch Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods in it. According to reports, Apple 10 series can be thinner than before. Its display can also be bigger. The company can also launch low-end AirPods in it.

iPhone display size may change

According to several leaks, Apple may change the display size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro Max may have a 6.9-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro may have a 6.3-inch display.

iPhones are being made in India since 2017

Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017 with the iPhone SE. It has three electronics manufacturing service (EMS) partners – Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron. After the iPhone SE, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 were also manufactured in India. Foxconn’s plant is in Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

Apple is part of the PLI scheme of the Government of India

All three of Apple’s contract manufacturers (Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron) are part of the Government of India’s Rs 41,000 crore Production-Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI). It is only after this scheme that iPhone manufacturing in India has increased.

The Government of India launched the PLI Scheme in 2020. This scheme gives companies from foreign countries an opportunity to take advantage of local manufacturing and also earn incentives on it.

Type-C port was given for the first time last year

Apple also launched the iPhone 15 series, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the ‘Wanderlust’ event last year. For the first time, the company provided Type-C port for charging. Till now, Lightning port was available in it.
