Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has witnessed repeated demonstrations and clashes involving security personnel and supporters of the Joint Awami Action Committee.

Members of the Kashmiri diaspora across the United Kingdom have mobilised in substantial numbers to stage coordinated, large-scale demonstrations outside Pakistani diplomatic missions in major British cities, including Bradford, London, and Birmingham.

The public rallies are to draw urgent international attention to allegations of severe state repression, widespread brutality, and systematic human rights violations reportedly committed by Pakistani security forces across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The latest wave of protests represents a direct continuation of widespread public agitation and civil demonstrations that began two months ago. Organised at the urging and call of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), the protests in the UK reflect an escalating solidarity movement between expatriate Kashmiris and residents confronting ongoing security operations in PoK.

Outside the diplomatic compounds, demonstrators voiced grave concerns over the heavy-handed conduct of the state apparatus. Protesters accused Pakistani security agencies and the administrative establishment of orchestrating aggressive crackdowns, including unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, and enforced abductions and disappearances.

Addressing gathered crowds, community representatives condemned invasive and violent home raids, stressing that state forces have systematically targeted vulnerable civilian populations, including women and children. To amplify their grievances, protesters formally appealed for immediate intervention from global bodies and international human rights organisations.

Activists called upon all members of the global diaspora to enforce an absolute boycott of travel and tourism to Pakistan, urging travellers to refrain strictly from booking flights with the national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). They appealed to overseas Kashmiris to withhold and halt all personal financial remittances sent back to Pakistan until state violence ceases and their legitimate grievances are settled.

The demonstrations come against a backdrop of civil discontent throughout PoK. For several months, local populations under the banner of the Joint Awami Action Committee have engaged in extensive strikes, mass marches, and public demonstrations over governance grievances, resource exploitation, and draconian security measures.
