An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons after two posters questioning the government’s performance and raising various issues were found pasted inside a train on the Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line, police sources said on Friday.
The A4-sized, black-and-white posters carried phrases such as “You Can Change Your Own Life”, “Voting Protest”, “Spectrum of Engagement”, “Community Building Reform” and “Dissatisfied? You Are Not Alone”, the sources said.
The posters also listed nine claims about changes in the country over recent years and featured a QR code inviting people to join an online group. Police seized the posters, while the Special Cell has also joined the investigation, according to the sources.
The incident came to light on October 20, when Tarun Chaudhary, a train operator with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) deployed on the Airport Express Line, spotted the posters during his duty, according to the FIR.
Chaudhary had departed from New Delhi station for Yashobhoomi station at around 6.50 pm, with the train reaching its destination at approximately 7.15 pm.
While inspecting the train from inside the cabin, he noticed two posters pasted on a seat, the FIR stated.
Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and are investigating how the posters were put up inside the metro train. The involvement of the Special Cell is also part of the ongoing probe.
