Rajpal Yadav had arrived at around 8 pm on Thursday night for the inauguration of a new jewelery showroom located at Civil Lines, Jhansi. As soon as information about his arrival was received, a crowd of fans gathered. People were competing to take selfies with him.

Said on the case – Stress is less than since childhood
On the question of tension regarding check bounce case, Rajpal Yadav replied in his familiar witty style. He said- Stress is less than since childhood. When asked about his experience of the time spent in Tihar Jail, he said that there I used to make myself laugh. Used to make people laugh a lot.
He further said that this is a court related matter. At present it would not be right to say much on this. Whatever decision of the court comes, it will be in front of you people. Just keep your love like this.
Regarding his connection with Jhansi, Rajpal Yadav said- This city has always been special for me. For the last 26 years, I have been coming to Orchha Ramraja Darbar near Jhansi and Pitambara Mai in Datia. Many of my friends and guru brothers are associated with Jhansi.
Rajpal said- He used to keep himself happy in Tihar.
Said- Will be seen in films every second month.
Regarding his upcoming films, Rajpal Yadav said – Now the audience will be able to watch one of my films every second month. Currently about 12 films are in the pipeline. In such a situation, he will be seen continuously on the big screen in the coming times.
At the end of the conversation with the media, Rajpal Yadav, referring to a dialogue from one of his films, said, “Whatever you bring, do it.” His funny style caught the attention of the people present there.
Loan was taken for the film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’
This check bounce case is from the year 2010. Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of about Rs 5 crore from a private company Murali Projects Private Limited to make his first directorial film Ata Pata Lapata.
This film flopped at the box office, after which Rajpal Yadav could not return the loan amount on time. Due to non-payment of the amount, this whole matter turned into a legal battle.
Rajpal Yadav is a resident of Shahjahanpur in UP. He had borrowed money for the film ‘Aata Pata Lapata’.
Was sentenced to six months in 2018
- In April 2018, a magistrate court had convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha in a check bounce case. Rajpal was sentenced to six months in jail. After this, in the beginning of 2019, the Sessions Court had also upheld this decision.
- In June 2024, the High Court had temporarily stayed the sentence of Rajpal Yadav. The court had asked him to pay the dues of about Rs 9 crore. However, they failed to pay the stipulated amount. On February 2 this year, the court had ordered him to surrender.
- Rajpal had surrendered in Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026 following the order of Delhi High Court. After spending 12 days in jail, he got interim bail from the Delhi High Court on 17 February.
Rajpal was released on February 17 after being in Tihar Jail for 12 days. His wife Radha Yadav is also an accused in the case.
