Udhayveer Sidhu clinched the gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Cairo on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Indian recorded a score of 240.6 in the final to secure the top spot, edging out Germany’s Christian Reitz, who scored 240.1 to take silver. Italy’s Paolo Monna claimed bronze with 219.8.
Udhayveer had secured his place in the final by finishing fourth in qualification with a score of 585-19x.
Another Indian shooter, Jonathan Gavin Antony, finished second in the qualification round but participated only for ranking points.
Meanwhile, Ajendra Singh Chauhan and Sarabjot Singh ended their qualification campaigns in 14th and 31st place, respectively, missing out on a spot in the eight-shooter final.
