The latest review comes amid a broader overhaul of the NTA’s examination systems.
In August, the Education Ministry directed the agency to audit its exam processes and strengthen its confidential operations. Measures announced at the time included air-gapped systems, secure workrooms and stricter device-deposit protocols for sensitive examination operations.
NTA had said the additional checks would examine papers for issues including factual, typographical, translation and formatting errors. The agency has also taken steps to strengthen its infrastructure and security arrangements, including the relocation of its headquarters and deployment of CISF personnel at its offices, according to reports on the overhaul.
The NTA conducts several major national-level entrance and eligibility exams, including JEE Main and UGC-NET. Its official mandate includes conducting assessments that are intended to be efficient, transparent, fair and secure.
The latest review is aimed at ensuring that security arrangements, exam infrastructure, coordination and candidate communication are strengthened ahead of the upcoming examination cycle.
