Character actor Mushtaq Khan, who made his mark with his acting in films like ‘Welcome’ and ‘Aashiqui’, has passed away at the age of 56. He was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai for the last 15 days, where he breathed his last today on 24th September. Mushtaq Khan was suffering from cancer for the last five years. His business partner Shivam has confirmed his death while talking to Aaj Tak. His last rites will be performed on Friday, September 25 in Mumbai. Mushtaq Khan was admitted in Nanavati Hospital for 15 days. He was diagnosed with cancer about five years ago. He recovered after treatment, but recently the disease returned again. After this his health started deteriorating continuously. In view of his critical condition, he was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors. Mushtaq Khan’s business partner Shivam informed that he said goodbye to the world on Thursday during treatment in the hospital. There is an atmosphere of sadness among his family and colleagues from the film industry due to his demise. Mushtaq Khan, who created a special identity through supporting and comedy roles, played mostly supporting and comic roles in his long film career. His work in the film ‘Welcome’ was much liked. Apart from this, he left his acting mark in many superhit films like ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’. The journey of acting started from theatre. Mushtaq Khan, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, started his career from theatre. After entering Bollywood in the 90s, he worked in films as well as television shows and dramas. His effortless comic timing and dialogue delivery on screen was always appreciated by the audience.
