Iran has warned that if America or Israel attacks it again, the ongoing war in West Asia could spread to the Indian Ocean.
Yahya Rahim Safavi, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said on Thursday that the conflict has already spread from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea, according to AFP. If there is another attack, the scope of the war may increase further.
If this happens, it can have a big impact on big oil importing countries like India and China. The Indian Ocean is very important for connecting Europe and West Asia with Asian countries. Increasing tension in the sea will increase the possibility of attacks on ships bringing oil from West Asia.
Claim- The war had reached the Indian Ocean in March
According to Iran, in March this year also the impact of the war had reached the Indian Ocean. At that time, Iran’s warship IRIS Dena was sunk in the US attack. This incident happened near the coast of Sri Lanka.
According to Reuters, the Iranian frigate sank about 19 nautical miles off the Sri Lankan city of Galle. This place comes in the Exclusive Economic Zone i.e. EEZ of Sri Lanka.
Pazashkian angry at Trump in UN
This warning from Iran has come at a time when President Masood Pazhakian has reached America to participate in the UN General Assembly. At the UN, Pazhakian had described US President Trump’s attitude as a bullying mentality.
Pazashkian said Iran will not bow to US pressure. During his speech at the UN General Assembly, Pazhakian said the threats would further strengthen Iran’s resolve. However, he also talked about keeping the path of dialogue open to end the war.
Trump said- compromise or we will destroy
US President Trump has once again threatened the UN General Assembly to destroy Iran. In his speech at the UN on Tuesday, he said-
America has two options – to make a deal with Iran or to destroy it.
He further said, ‘I had told the European countries that Iran was making nuclear bombs under the guise of ballistic missiles. While other leaders were merely waiting, America stopped Iran by taking action against it.
Since the start of the US-Iran war, Trump has threatened to destroy Iran more than 10 times in the last 7 months, but every time he had to turn back and adopt the path of talks.
Iranian army said- Trump misused the UN platform
Earlier, Iran’s army had also targeted Trump. The Iranian armed forces alleged that Trump used the UN platform to justify US aggression against Iran.
According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian military said that Trump’s repeated threats are not a sign of strength, but a sign of strategic frustration.
Iran reveals conditions for opening Hormuz Strait
Iran has presented its conditions to America for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. According to Al Jazeera’s report, Araghchi presented these conditions to US officials.
Iran demands that the US immediately lift the naval blockade and release frozen Iranian assets abroad. Also end the war on all fronts including Lebanon
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. A large amount of crude oil and gas is transported through this waterway connecting the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
