A Thar driver identified as Ashish Paul was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run in Greater Noida West killed Supreme Court lawyer Neeraj Kumar Sinha. Sinha’s wife, who was also riding the scooter, is in critical condition and undergoing treatment.
The police arrested Ashish Paul in connection with the accident. The incident took place on Monday in Greater Noida West’s Etera area, where a speeding Thar collided with a scooter carrying the couple.
According to the police, the accident occurred while the Thar was overtaking. The collision resulted in the death of Supreme Court lawyer Neeraj Kumar Sinha.
After the accident, the accused driver allegedly abandoned the Thar at the spot and fled.
HIT-AND-RUN CHARGE ADDED
Following a demand from the victim’s family for strict action, police added the hit-and-run provision to the FIR.
Sinha’s family has demanded strict action against the accused. His wife remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment.
ANOTHER GREATER NOIDA HIT-AND-RUN
In another Greater Noida hit-and-run, a man identified as Himanshu suffered multiple fractures after a speeding Tata Punch hit him on September 5. Himanshu had gone with his wife to buy a cake for his birthday and was crossing the road when the car rammed into him. The impact threw him into the air, with the cake falling onto the road. He suffered fractures to both legs, arms, knees and spine. CCTV captured the incident. Police arrested the accused driver and seized the Tata Punch involved in the collision.
