Melania Trump said she gives Donald Trump her honest assessment of his speeches, even when he “doesn’t want to hear it.”

US First Lady Melania Trump has offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with President Donald Trump, saying she gives her husband her honest assessment of his speeches and interviews even when he does not always want to hear it.
Speaking to Fox & Friends on Wednesday, September 23, host Brian Kilmeade asked Melania about Trump’s United Nations General Assembly address in New York and noted that the President sometimes seeks her opinion on his speeches.
Melania said she told him that he had delivered the speech well, but added that she does not simply tell him what he wants to hear.
“He did very well, and a great speech. So I tell him the truth. Sometimes he doesn’t want to hear it, what I tell him. But that’s OK. I always say the truth,” she said.
Melania On Trump’s Second Term
Melania was also asked about how her husband was handling his second term as US President.
She acknowledged that the situation around the world is very different from his first term but said she believes Trump is doing the best he can.
“He’s very focused. He has a lot on his plate,” she said, describing him as someone who works continuously from morning until evening.
Her UNGA Appearance And Foster Youth Initiative
Melania’s comments came a day after she made a rare public appearance at the UN General Assemblywhere she sat alongside members of the US delegation during Trump’s address.
Her visit to the UN was also connected to her own work. She hosted an event for Fostering the Future Together, an initiative focused on education, technology and opportunities for young people transitioning out of the foster care system.
The latest event brought together representatives from several countries and announced new partnerships and initiatives.
Work On Ukrainian And Russian Children
Melania also spoke about her efforts to help reunite Ukrainian and Russian children who were separated from their families during the war.
She said her team had developed a “very positive relationship” with Russian President Vladimir Putin while working on the reunification efforts.
Her comments come after Trump highlighted the issue during his UN speech, praising his wife’s work to help secure the return of displaced children to their families.
Trump Searches For Melania During UN Speech
Melania also featured in one of the lighter moments of Trump’s UN address on Tuesday.
While praising her work involving Ukrainian and Russian children, Trump paused and looked around the hall after apparently failing to spot her among the audience.
“Where is our first lady? Where is she?” he asked.
The camera then turned towards Melania, who smiled and waved as people seated near her gestured towards Trump. He subsequently spotted her and continued his remarks.
Melania’s Earlier UN Security Council Role
Trump also referred to Melania’s earlier appearance at the United Nations, where she chaired a Security Council session focused on children, education and peace.
Her UN appearances have given her a separate platform to highlight issues involving children and education, while her latest visit coincided with her efforts to expand the Fostering the Future Together initiative.
