Michel Peridon, who made a fortune from the computer keyboard and mouse business, now has a Bugatti in his car collection, which is the only model in the world. The name of this hypercar specially prepared for the Dutch businessman is Bruiar. Mate Rimac, CEO of luxury car company Bugatti Rimac, handed over the keys of this special car to him at the Chantilly Arts and Elegance ceremony in France. Its estimated price is said to be around Rs 192 crore. Peridon’s business identity came from the computer accessories company Trust. The business of spare parts used in devices like keyboard and mouse gave him the ability to fulfill his hobby of expensive cars. He created a private collection of Bugatti, which consists of historic models along with modern hypercars. Peridon’s love for Bugatti is reflected in his collection. Along with cars, he has also collected artefacts, furniture and watches related to the Bugatti family. According to their company, the ‘Peridon Experience’ project aims to preserve the legacy of this family. A maximum of two cars a year, each designed individually for each customer, is the first offering from Bruyère Bugatti’s ‘Programme Solitaire’. Under this, only a maximum of two cars will be made every year. The exterior structure and interior will be designed as per the customer’s choice. The Bruyère produces 1,600 PS, or about 1,578 horsepower. According to design director Frank Hile, not a single body panel of the two cars is the same. Inspiration from the founder’s horse to the name and color The car is named after Bruiar, the favorite horse of Bugatti founder Ettore Bugatti. According to the company, Ettore had created a special mechanism for opening the stable door so that his horse Bruiar could open it himself. Horse figures are embroidered on the doors and seats of the car. The seats are custom-made to Peridon’s measurements. The gear lever is made from a single piece of aluminium. A small hand-made statue of a horse is kept inside the glass. Son showed no interest in business, sold company According to a September 2024 profile of Dutch website Bedriven, Peridon started washing cars at the age of 12. However, he belonged to an ordinary business family. His father used to buy and sell leftover electronics from importers. Business was discussed at home even at the breakfast table. Peridon later took over his father’s company and gave his business global recognition. But the son did not show interest in taking over the business, so he sold the trust in 2018. Later invested in property and other businesses.
