Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced three major decisions for lawyers in Prayagraj. He said that multi-level parking will be arranged for about 10 thousand lawyers in Allahabad High Court.
Apart from this, tablets will be provided to 400 state law officers to connect them with technology. It has also been announced to provide cashless medical insurance facility up to Rs 5 lakh to all the lawyers of the state.
CM Yogi Prayagraj Referring to the judicial and historical legacy of India, he said that this land has always given important direction to India’s constitutional consciousness and legal discourse. Many jurists and public leaders emerged from here, who played an important role in the democratic and constitutional development of the country.
Mentioned the role of lawyers in the freedom movement
Recalling the contribution of lawyers in the freedom movement, the Chief Minister said that India’s freedom movement was scattered until Mahatma Gandhi took command of the movement after leaving his practice in South Africa.
He said that the land of Prayagraj has been witness to many such advocates, who along with practicing law, actively participated in the freedom movement. During this, CM Yogi mentioned Pandit Motilal Nehru and Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya. Along with this, he also remembered the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The Chief Minister said that there are three important pillars of India’s democracy and democracy becomes stronger only with better coordination between them. Judiciary plays an important role in establishing the rule of law and achieving the goals of good governance. He described Bar and Bench as important parts of the chariot of justice.
‘Before 2017, 45-50 percent posts in police were vacant’
Taking aim at the previous governments, CM Yogi said that before 2017, the state was not only facing the challenge of resources, but there were also challenges related to the approach of the system, transparency and accountability in administration, law and order and judicial infrastructure. He said that the police is the first link in the justice system, but before 2017, 45 to 50 percent of the posts in the police force were vacant. After this the government took the recruitment process forward.
According to CM Yogi, at that time the state had the capacity to train only about 3 thousand policemen at a time. Now it has been increased to 60 thousand. He said that today Uttar Pradesh has the capacity to train 60 thousand policemen simultaneously.
