An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted with the Special Branch of Navi Mumbai Police allegedly died by suicide by hanging at a lodging in Airoli, under the jurisdiction of the Rabale MIDC Police Station.
A suicide note and a video were reportedly posted on social media, in which the ASI allegedly held two senior police officers and a head clerk responsible for his death.
In the video, he allegedly named a former DCP, an ACP and a head clerk, accusing them of harassment. He also reportedly left behind a nine-page suicide note.
According to the allegations made in the note, the three officials had allegedly harassed him in connection with the assignment of official duties.
Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the allegations made in the note and video. Further details are awaited.
