The NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling process begins today, September 3, giving eligible candidates another opportunity to secure admission to undergraduate medical and dental programmes through the counselling process.
As per the counselling schedule, the Round 2 process will be conducted from September 3 to September 11, 2026. Candidates participating in the process will be required to complete the applicable counselling formalities within the stipulated deadlines, including registration, choice filling and choice locking, wherever applicable.
The Round 2 counselling process is particularly important for candidates who could not secure a seat in the first round, those who wish to participate in the next round after the prescribed rules, and candidates seeking an upgrade to a preferred course or institution.
Candidates are advised to carefully check the official counselling guidelines and ensure that their choices are submitted correctly before the deadline. Once choices are locked, changes may not be permitted as per the applicable counselling rules.
The schedule also provides for verification of candidates who join their allotted seats. State counselling authorities are scheduled to conduct verification from September 7 to September 11, while the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct verification of joined candidates on September 19.
