Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz has given a big statement regarding Gaza. He said that if America gives approval, Israel is ready to expel Palestinians from Gaza. Katz said that Hamas is not ready to give up its weapons. In such a situation, the solution to the problem of Gaza is not possible without removing people from there. He told that a plan is ready to oust the Palestinians from Gaza. There are preparations to send people out by sea, air or any other means. Now Israel is waiting for America’s decision as to where these people will be sent. Trump backed down on the proposal after Egypt’s opposition. Trump faced strong opposition on this proposal. This also included Egypt, which is the only country other than Israel that shares a border with Gaza. Palestinians also condemned the proposal. For them, any attempt to forcibly remove them from their land is reminiscent of the mass displacement that took place during the creation of Israel in 1948, known as the “Nakba.” While announcing the Gaza ceasefire in October, Trump had given a 20-point plan for this area. This included no forced displacement. Katz said – the plan has not been canceled. Katz, known for his outspoken statements, said that Trump has just “frozen” the idea. They are looking for countries that can host Palestinians, because Egypt is not an option. Katz said, “The plan has not been canceled. It is being discussed all the time, is still being discussed. I think there is no other solution for the good of everyone.” He said, “But we need America to implement it. When will we get its approval? When it becomes clear that Hamas is not fulfilling its responsibilities under the ceasefire.” Katz’s claim – 80% of Gaza’s people want to leave. Without citing any source for his claim, Katz said that 80% of Gaza’s people want to leave. He claimed that Hamas was stopping him. Forcible removal of civilians from occupied territory is considered a war crime under the Geneva Conventions. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Katz’s predecessor Yoav Galant over alleged war crimes. Both Israel and America deny these allegations. Hamas attacks and the death toll in Gaza Following the unprecedented attack by Hamas, a large population of Gaza has already been displaced within its own territory due to Israeli attacks. According to Israel’s official figures, 1,221 people were killed in that attack. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 73,470 people have died in subsequent Israeli attacks. The ministry works under Hamas and according to it, more than 1,330 people have been killed even after the ceasefire.
