An emergency landing was made at Ahmedabad airport after a bomb threat was received on an Air India flight coming from Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Delhi on Monday. During the flight, a crew member found a tissue paper in the toilet of the plane, on which ‘Bomb’ was written in English.

The flight was diverted to Ahmedabad and landed safely at around 4:30 pm. There were 32 passengers on board the flight. After landing, all the passengers were safely evacuated and taken to Terminal-2.

Taking the plane to the isolation area, security agencies checked the cabin, seats, cargo and passengers’ luggage. In the initial investigation, no suspicious object or explosive was found from the plane.

The crew informed the pilot

According to the police, the crew member informed the pilot immediately after finding the tissue paper. After this, as per security protocol, it was decided to divert the plane to Ahmedabad.

After landing, security agencies including CISF, bomb disposal and dog squad examined the aircraft. Police have started investigating who left the threatening note and why.
