Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised the country for the recent Gen-Z protests in the country. He said that India’s political system came under pressure, but did not break. Tharoor said this in an NDTV program while discussing the political systems of South Asia and the Gen-Z protests.
He also compared the situation in India with other countries where youth took to the streets to protest on a large scale in recent years. Tharoor said that in the last decade or so, major demonstrations of youth have been seen in six major countries of South Asia.
These include Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and India. There were different issues behind all these demonstrations, but all of them were fueled by the anger of Gen-Z. The governments of these countries faced the protests in different ways. At the same time, India handled the situation by adjusting itself according to the circumstances.
