Shweta further wrote, ‘And what shocks me the most is that these men are not necessarily illiterate or come from a bad environment. Many of these people are educated, come from seemingly respectable families, have wives, daughters, mothers and sisters and yet they feel absolutely comfortable using the most derogatory words against another woman.’ Shweta Tiwari also shared profiles of some abusive users and also shared pictures of their families. She wrote in the post, “A person is a supporter of Raj Thackeray and his party. All my life I have felt the pride and respect associated with being a Marathi man. I have heard Marathi women proudly saying that they are Marathi Mulgi.” Shweta said, “I think Marathi culture takes care of women’s respect, their strength and dignity. But when a Marathi man abuses a woman by sending a personal message, I am surprised.” She asked, “Is this what Marathi Manus means? Raj Thackeray, I want to know that if such people are your supporters, do you believe that such behavior is justified?” The actress wrote, “It is not enough to call oneself a Marathi Manus. Respecting women is also the identity of a Marathi Manus.” According to Shweta, the trolls have become so shameless that even her 8 year old son and daughter say rude things about Palak.
