Actress Rhea Chakraborty told that after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, his family had to face many difficulties. After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea’s father was also interrogated for several days.
Brother got admission in IIM, but left studies due to going to jail
Riya has also told that before Sushant’s death, her brother Shouvik had got 97 percent in CAT and got admission in IIM, but he was also arrested along with Riya. Despite depositing the full fees, he could not complete his studies. Riya has told that she did not even get a job anywhere.
Investigation and jail after Sushant’s death
After Sushant’s death on 14 June 2020, Rhea came under investigation. Rhea and her brother Shouvik Chakraborty were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug case related to the investigation.
Riya was also in jail for some time. She has previously told that this entire period affected her mental health and she suffered from PTSD. Later the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a closure report in the case of Sushant’s death. In this report, Rhea was acquitted of the charges in the case, which gave her relief after several years of investigation.
Controversy with Malaika in ‘The Traitors’
Riya is currently participating in season 2 of ‘The Traitors’. During the show, he also had a heated argument with contestant Malaika Sherawat.
Rhea had defended Munawar Faruqui after his comment on Malaika’s ‘comeback’. Riya told Malaika that Munawwar was talking positively about your comeback, he had not said anything wrong.
