Sukhbir Singh Badal, former Punjab Deputy CM, was attacked near Mata Sahib Gurdwara in Nanded. He was hospitalized, a police officer was also injured.

Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was attacked near Mata Sahib Gurdwara in Nanded Sahib at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra on Thursday, in what has been described as a potentially fatal assault.
Badal was attacked by an assailant with a sharp-edged weapon and sustained an injury to his hand.

He was rushed to a private hospital for treatment following the incident. A police personnel was also injured in the attack.
The attack took place at 11:30 am when Badal was going to the gurudwara. One person came near him and tried to stab him. Police officials quickly intervened in the scuffle; however, Badal suffered injuries.
Inspector Santosh Kendre, who was deployed in special security, was also attacked and injured near Mata Sahib Gurudwara at Hazur Sahib Nanded. One attacker has been detained.
