Jail authorities have ordered an inquiry into how the phone reached him and why he was not wearing the prescribed prison uniform.

The video appears to show Revanna wearing civilian clothes and speaking to someone on the phone inside the prison.
A video purportedly showing rape convict and former MP Prajwal Revanna talking on a mobile phone inside Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison surfaced on Wednesday, a day after jail authorities seized a smartphone from his barrack.
The video appears to show Revanna wearing civilian clothes and speaking to someone on the phone inside the prison. Jail authorities have ordered an inquiry into how the phone reached him and why he was not wearing the prescribed prison uniform.
Phone Seized During Jail Raid
Director General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services) Alok Kumar said an Android phone was seized from Revanna’s barrack during a four-to-five-hour Central Crime Branch (CCB) search on Tuesday.
Kumar said Revanna had also been found without the required prison uniform, calling it another lapse. He said a complaint about the issue had been received three months ago and prison officials had been instructed to ensure that all convicted prisoners followed the rules.
The CCB raid targeted high-profile inmates and other prisoners in the high-security block. No other contraband was found, Kumar said. The CCB has filed a complaint with Parappana Agrahara Police Station and an FIR is being registered.
