Chennai News: The Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Improvement Association has urged both the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government to exempt teachers who joined service before 2011 from appearing for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The demand comes after a Supreme Court ruling requiring such teachers to clear the examination by August 2028. The association said the ruling has created uncertainty over the job security of thousands of teachers who were appointed before the Right to Education (RTE) Act made the TET mandatory.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam, is expected to announce the Assam D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test (PET) Result 2026 today, July 27. Candidates who appeared for the entrance exam will be able to check their results on the official website, scertpet.co.in, once the result link is activated.
The result will decide admission to the D.El.Ed Programme for the 2026-28 academic session. Along with the scorecards, SCERT Assam will also release the merit list of selected candidates. Students waiting for the Assam D.El.Ed PET Result 2026 should keep their login details ready to access the result online.
The merit list will be prepared according to the marks obtained by candidates in the Pre-Entry Test. Candidates with higher scores will receive better ranks, which will improve their chances of admission.

What Happens After The Result Announcement?

Students who qualify for the examination will get admission to the D.El.Ed course for the 2026-28 batch in government and recognised private Teacher Education Institutes across Assam.
