By exploiting popular online protests, such as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement, fraudsters deploy fake donation drives, phishing links, and malicious apps to empty bank accounts and compromise electronic devices.
Cyber police and security researchers warn that sympathisers—particularly younger, digitally active supporters—are falling prey to sophisticated social engineering schemes designed to steal money and personal data under the guise of grassroots solidarity.
