HCLTech CEO Salary: HCLTech Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director C Vijayakumar received a total remuneration of $18.13 million (around Rs 175 crore) in the financial year 2025-26, making him the highest-paid CEO among India’s top IT services companies.
According to HCLTech’s latest annual report, Vijayakumar’s total compensation rose nearly 66.9 per cent from the previous financial year, driven largely by long-term incentives and stock-based compensation.
Vijayakumar, who is based in the US and draws his salary from HCL America Inc., a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of HCLTech, earned a base salary of $2.48 million during FY26. His compensation package also included a performance-linked bonus of $2 million and benefits and perquisites worth $0.31 million.
A significant portion of his remuneration came from long-term incentive (LTI) cash payouts of $3.94 million and the perquisite value of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) exercised during the year, amounting to $9.40 million.
The company said that excluding the LTI payout and the value of exercised RSUs, Vijayakumar’s remuneration would have increased by 22.86 per cent over the previous year instead of 66.9 per cent.
Earns Far More Than Other Top IT CEOs
Vijayakumar’s FY26 compensation comfortably surpassed that of other leading Indian IT CEOs. TCS CEO and Managing Director K Krithivasan received a total remuneration of Rs 28 crore during FY26, up 6.3 per cent from the previous year.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh earned Rs 82.60 crore in FY26, registering a modest 2 per cent increase, while Wipro CEO Srinivas Pallia drew total remuneration of USD 5.29 million, or about Rs 49.64 crore.
Among the country’s top IT companies, Vijayakumar remains the highest-paid chief executive by a considerable margin.
Pay Was Nearly 292 Times Median Employee Salary
The annual report also highlighted the gap between the CEO’s compensation and employee pay. Vijayakumar’s remuneration during FY26 was 291.9 times the median remuneration of HCLTech’s global workforce. Meanwhile, the median remuneration of HCLTech employees increased 5.4 per cent during the financial year.
As of March 31, HCLTech had 170,811 permanent employees on its standalone rolls, while its subsidiaries employed another 56,370 people.
HCLTech FY26 Financial Performance
For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, HCLTech reported consolidated revenue of Rs 1,30,144 crore, an increase of 11.18 per cent over the previous year. However, net profit declined 4.3 per cent to Rs 16,642 crore from Rs 17,390 crore in FY25, reflecting pressure on profitability despite healthy revenue growth.
