Actor Gaurav Khanna entered Lock Up: Sach Ya Sazaa after his wife, actor Akanksha Chamola, revealed on the show that they had been separated for a year and were heading towards a divorce. In a new promo released by Netflix, host Farah Khan asked him about Akanksha’s second secret: her revelation that she is bisexual.
While Akanksha said Gaurav had known about it, the television star said he had always believed that if you like someone, you should do so wholeheartedly.
The promo followed an earlier clip in which he entered during visiting hours, met Akanksha, and said she had really shaken things up. Akanksha had also said on the show that there was no bitterness between them and that they had decided to part ways because they wanted different things from life.
The new promo opened with Farah telling Gaurav, “When his second secret was revealed I also asked him whether Gaurav knows about this? And she said you had already (When her second secret was revealed, I even asked her, ‘Does Gaurav know about this?’ And she said, ‘He knew beforehand’.”
Gaurav then said, ‘I always say that if you like someone then you do it in the right way. (I have always said that if you like someone, you should do so wholeheartedly). I have always been that guy in my life.”
Akanksha added, “He was very open-minded. He understood my feelings and everything, and he accepted it graciously.”
In the earlier promo, Farah announced the start of visiting hours while the contestants remained locked inside their jail cells. “Visiting hours have begun. Today, our first visitor is coming to meet everyone,” she said, leaving the inmates wondering who would walk in first.
Moments later, Gaurav entered, recited a poem and walked straight to Akanksha. Smiling, he greeted her and said, “Band baja di aapne meri (You have really shaken things up)”, after which Akanksha was seen becoming visibly emotional.
Meanwhile, in the latest episode, Akanksha said a female friend had once told her, “Unfortunately, you are very unlucky in love, and you will always be unlucky in love,” and added that she had accepted it. In another conversation on the show with Pamela Serena and Varun Yadav, Varun asked, “You are unlucky in love?” Akanksha replied, “I am very unlucky in love.”
What has been revealed on the show so far?
On the premiere episode, Akanksha said there was no bitterness between her and Gaurav and that things had not turned ugly between them. She said they still spoke to each other, but had realised over time that they might not be right for each other as life partners.
Another personal part of Akanksha’s life came into focus after fellow contestant Shreya Kalra disclosed it on the show. During the weekend episode, Akanksha spoke about finding comfort in feminine energy and said she had been in a few same-sex relationships before marrying Gaurav.
Akanksha also spoke on the show about wanting to lead a single life and said she and Gaurav had parted ways because they wanted different things from life. While Gaurav had said during Bigg Boss that he wanted to have a child, Akanksha reiterated on Lid Up that she did not feel maternal and did not want one.
Hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, Lock Up: Sach Ya Sazaa streams from Saturday to Thursday at 8 pm. The second instalment features 14 inmates, two jailers and one lock-up over six weeks, with contestants required to complete tasks to earn in-game currency for basic necessities, supplies and privileges.
