A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The incident happened on Wednesday. At present the reasons for suicide are not known and the matter is being investigated.

The deceased soldier has been identified as Andhra Pradesh resident Y. Chandra Reddy. He was posted in F Company of 18th Battalion of CRPF in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.

At present it is not clear under what circumstances the soldier took this step. Officials say that all aspects of the case are being investigated and efforts are being made to find out the reason for the suicide.

Model primary school will be built in every panchayat in Odisha, CM Majhi gave instructions to identify land for 2200 schools.

Expressing displeasure over the delay in the implementation of the Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School (GMMPS) scheme, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed all district collectors to identify land for at least 2,200 model primary schools by March 2027.

During the review meeting on the progress of the state government’s flagship scheme GMMPS on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that this program is very important to strengthen primary education and no delay in it will be accepted.

The state government has planned to establish Godabarish Mishra Model Primary Schools in all gram panchayats. For this, a provision of Rs 2,200 crore has been made in the budget for the financial year 2026-27. Earlier last year, Rs 50 crore was allocated for this scheme.

Shiv Sena councilor arrested after assault in Maharashtra, woman doctor also accused of attack

Shiv Sena councilor Ramesh Mhatre was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the assault on doctors and medical staff of the Municipal Corporation Hospital in Maharashtra’s Thane district. This action took place two days after the incident, following the viral video and growing protests, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena has also assured of disciplinary action against the councillor.

Kalyan Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Atul Jende said that three associates of the councilor were arrested in this case on Tuesday night itself. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.

In the video that has gone viral on social media, Ramesh Mhatre is seen slapping and punching a doctor and hitting him on the head with a register. In the video, he was also seen attacking the hand of a female doctor.
