Veteran Bollywood actress and MP Hema Malini has rejected the claim of being the most expensive actress of the industry in the 1970s and 80s. In ‘Hindi Rush’ podcast, Hema Malini said that she never got as big a fee as today’s stars. She made it clear that she did not work for money. Fees increased only marginally as popularity increased. According to the actress, her work was liked by the producers, but for her, film experience and recognition were more important than earnings. Today’s stars did not get even a little bit of their fees. Hema Malini asked in the interview, who said that she was the most expensive actress? He told that very little money was paid during his time. He did not get even a small part of the huge amount of money that today’s artists get. The actress said that directors and producers liked her very much, but she never worked keeping money in mind. As the name grew, the makers increased the payment a little as per their wish. Whenever she received an envelope, she considered it as initiation. Hema Malini told that her mother used to handle the entire management of her work. His mother was very generous with the producers. If a producer came and said that he could not give much money for this film, his mother would agree without any objection. She never set a condition for any film that she would work only after getting this much fee. Whatever small envelope the producers gave her, she would accept it as initiation. For him, the respect he got from films was more important than money. The film journey started with ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’. Hema Malini entered Bollywood in the year 1968 with the film ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’. After this, she emerged as a big star in the 1970s and 1980s. He worked in many blockbuster films like ‘Sita Aur Geeta’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Dream Girl’, ‘Satte Pe Satta’ and ‘Baghban’.
