Novak Djokovic expresses admiration for Virat Kohli, plans India visit to play tennis and cricket with the star cricketer.

24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has reiterated his fondness for ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, saying that he would love to play tennis as well as cricket with the latter, adding that he is planning to visit India in the near future and he and Kohli have been in touch regarding it.
The star cricketer and Djokovic have kept in touch through Instagram messages, expressing mutual admiration for each other’s careers from afar. Now, that long-distance friendship could lead to an in-person meeting.
Speaking on the sidelines of Wimbledon 2026, Djokovic had revealed that he is planning a trip to India, where he hopes to meet Kohli in person. The former also said that he would love the chance to play both tennis and cricket with the former India skipper.
“I would love to play some cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future and we have been communicating about it. I know Virat is a global star, but especially in India, he is incredible,” Djokovic said while speaking to JioStar.
“I would love for him to be my host and show me around. I have a lot of respect for him and for Indian cricket. Cricket isn’t big in Serbia, where I come from. But some of the people in my team are British and they love cricket,” Djokovic added.
The Serbian is a seven-time champion at Wimbledon and will take on Felix Auger-Aliassime later on Tuesday in a tryst for an eighth title.
“A lot of my legacy is built on what I have achieved here at Wimbledon. I have said it many times and I have always been open about it. This was the tournament I dreamed of winning as a child,” Djokovic said.
