Real Madrid are determined to bring an end to the uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Jr.’s future, with the Spanish giants eager to wrap up a new contract for the Brazilian superstar.
According to Fabrizio Romanoneither the club nor the Brazilian forward has any doubts about continuing their partnership. Both sides remain committed to reaching an agreement, but negotiations have now narrowed almost entirely to financial terms.
With Brazil’s World Cup campaign now over, the focus has shifted back to club football and Vinicius’ contract situation. Real Madrid want to accelerate discussions rather than allow speculation to linger into the new season.
Real Madrid Want Certainty
Vinicius is currently under contract until 2027, but Madrid have no intention of allowing one of their biggest stars to edge closer to the final years of his deal without securing an extension.
Club president Florentino Perez views the 25-year-old as a central figure in the club’s future, both on the pitch and commercially. The objective is to resolve the negotiations this summer and remove any uncertainty surrounding one of the faces of the Santiago Bernabeu project.
The good news for Madrid is that Vinicius also wants to remain at the club. There is no disagreement over his commitment or desire to continue wearing the famous white shirt. Instead, the discussions have become a matter of finding common ground financially.
Salary And Bonus Remain Sticking Points
The biggest hurdle remains the structure of Vinicius’ new deal.
Reports suggest the Brazilian initially sought a salary package comparable to that of Kylian Mbappe, although recent developments indicate he could be willing to accept slightly lower wages than the French superstar.
However, negotiations have become more complicated over a proposed renewal bonus. Vinicius’ representatives are keen for such a payment to be included in the agreement, while Real Madrid have reportedly made it clear they are unwilling to offer one under any circumstances.
Despite that disagreement, optimism remains that a compromise can be reached. Madrid are keen to avoid a drawn-out saga.
