Star Norwegian striker Erling Haaland took over the drumroll duties from teammate Martin Odegaard after their victory over Brazil in the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup, as the team celebrated the big win with their supporters at the New Jersey stadium with the now customary Viking Row.
As thousands of Norwegian supporters moved in perfect unison, mimicking the rowing of a traditional Viking ship, the now-iconic celebration once again produced one of the tournament’s defining pictures.
This time, Haaland was at the heart of it all. After scoring a match-winning second-half brace to knock Brazil out of the FIFA World Cup, he stood at the front of the jubilant celebrations, pounding the drum and leading teammates and fans in the thunderous chants of “Ro!” that have become synonymous with Norway’s brilliant FIFA World Cup campaign.

Orjan Nyland delivered a goalkeeping masterclass, saving a first-half penalty from Bruno Guimarães before Haaland struck twice in the final 11 minutes to inspire Norway to a brilliant 2-1 win against Brazil at MetLife Stadium.
Haaland’s brace took him level with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe on seven goals for the tournament.
For Brazil, who appointed Carlo Ancelotti in a bid to end a 24-year FIFA World Cup title drought, the loss to Norway marked a sixth successive tournament in which they were eliminated by European opposition.
Sunday’s defeat to Norway marked Brazil’s earliest exit at a FIFA World Cup since their last-16 elimination by Argentina in 1990.
Nyland had given Norway belief after saving Guimaraes’ penalty in the first half and as the game entered its final phase, Haaland made the breakthrough.
