CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026: The Board has directed affiliated schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for all eligible students within the stipulated schedule.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The examination will be held according to the syllabus prescribed for the 2025–26 academic session.

CBSE has directed affiliated schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for all eligible students within the stipulated schedule.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026: Who Is Eligible?

– Regular students who were declared in the Compartment category in the 2026 board examinations must apply through their respective school.

– Students who passed the Class 12 board exam 2026 but wish to improve their performance may also apply, although improvement is permitted in only one subject already appeared for in the main examination.

– Students who first appeared for the Class 12 board examination in the 2024–25 session, were placed in the compartment category, and could not clear the 2025 supplementary examination (first chance) and the 2026 examination (second chance), are eligible to appear for the third and final chance only as Private Candidates. Such candidates must apply online through the CBSE website in accordance with the schedule announced by the Board.

“Only those private students who submit the online application form along with the prescribed fees shall be allowed to appear for Supplementary Examinations, 2026,” states the official notice.

Schools Directed To Submit LOC

The Board has made it clear that schools must submit the names of all compartment students in the LOC even if they are unable to contact them. Failure to include a student’s name will result in the student losing the opportunity to appear in the supplementary exam.

CBSE said that consolidated marksheets will be issued only to those students whose result was declared “Compartment” in the 2026 board examinations and who successfully pass the Supplementary Examination 2026.

The dates for downloading admit cards will be announced separately. Schools have been advised to immediately report any discrepancies in admit cards to the concerned CBSE Regional Office.
