Actor Akanksha Chamola has spoken about her personal life and whether she is ready to fall in love again following her separation from actor Gaurav Khanna. In the premiere episode of Lock Up: Sach Ya SazaaAkanksha confirmed that she and Gaurav have been living separately for over a year and are headed for divorce, a revelation that surprised fans.
In the second episode of the show, which dropped on Netflix last night, Akanksha was also seen speaking about her personal life and said she is not ready to fall in love again. In a conversation with Shreya Kalra, she said she now wants to enjoy her freedom and explore life on her own.
During the episode, Akanksha was talking to Shreya when Harshad Chopda walked past and asked what they were discussing. Akanksha joked, “We were praising your biceps,” and Harshad replied, “Thank you, but I am scared of Gaurav.”
After the exchange, Shreya asked Akanksha if she was ready to fall in love again now that she and Gaurav had separated. Akanksha replied, “I don’t know, but not at the moment. Yeah! I want to enjoy my freedom. See, I got married when I was very young. At 24, I had tied the knot. I haven’t explored that much. So, after 10 years of being in a good relationship, I now have time to explore and have that kind of freedom. Hence, I don’t want to get into something else.”
Speaking at the premiere, Akanksha said, “Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. Yes, we have been separated, and living separately for the last year. It has not been made public. It was a mutual decision. We have been sitting on it for the last year. Things are not bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other. We both don’t think that we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future, and unfortunately, it’s not with each other.”
She said they had tried to make the marriage work, but later realised they were no longer happy together. “Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola got married in 2016 after dating for a while, and went on to become one of television’s popular couples. Akanksha had also appeared on Bigg Boss 19 during the family week in November 2025, where she and Gaurav shared affectionate moments. Even after that, the two continued to appear together in social media posts and were seen celebrating Akanksha’s birthday together in January 2026. Akanksha has now said that while they remain on talking terms, they have decided to part ways because they no longer see the same future together.
