Amid the ongoing probe, police on Sunday recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort.

According to investigators, Chaudhary switched off his mobile internet at around 7 am the day Ketan (R) was killed.
A nearly 10-hour period during which Chetan Chaudhary, one of the accused in the murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, allegedly remained disconnected from the internet has become a crucial part of the investigation into the case.
Police believe Chaudhary deliberately stayed offline for around 640 minutes on June 18 in an attempt to avoid digital surveillance, but investigators say the unusual pattern ultimately helped them piece together the timeline of the alleged crime.
According to investigators, Chaudhary switched off his mobile internet at around 7 am and allegedly took additional measures to minimise his digital footprint. During the day, he is suspected of using an employee’s phone sparingly for communication while travelling towards Lohagad Fort, NDTV reported.
Chaudhary Wore Hoodie To Conceal Identity
Police allege that despite temperatures touching around 33°C, Chaudhary wore a thick winter hoodie to conceal his identity as he allegedly followed Agarwal and his fiancée and prime accused, Siya Goyal, along the trekking route.
Investigators claim that at around 2:30 pm, Goyal sat down at a secluded spot near the Vinchu Kata ridge as a pre-arranged signal. Chaudhary allegedly emerged from hiding and pushed Agarwal off the cliff, resulting in his death, the NDTV report mentioned.
Chetan’s Alleged ‘Offline Strategy’ Fails
According to the investigation, the accused reconnected to the internet at around 5:40 pm after remaining offline for several hours. Police say this abrupt return to connectivity stood out during the digital analysis and became an important lead in reconstructing the sequence of events.
As part of the ongoing probe, police on Sunday recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort with Siya Goyal present. “The police reconstructed the entire chain of events, including the route taken by the accused, their positions at the spot, the actions allegedly carried out and the manner in which the incident unfolded,” Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said.
